Bulges on sidewall of front tires
I have "finger" bulges on the sidewall of both of my Michelin XZE* 12R steer-tires that were put on my coach in April 2, 2014 with 5K miles on them. Michelin replaced them today and I just noticed "finger" bulges on these too, with less than 100 miles on them. Has anyone had this problem? Could it be an installation issue or a rim issue? The same dealer installed both sets of tires. TIA

If the bulges are at 90 degree spacing around the tire , they are from where the mold that the tire is manufactured in , separates to remove the tire at the end of manufacture.
A very slight bulge is noticeable on most tires, however if it looks like the bulge increases in size with air pressure , that's a problem.
I'd be taking them back and at very least registering a complaint.

Are you meaning they "bulge" towards the inside of the tire? Lots of tires have that from the sidewall material plies being weaved together which makes them stronger at that point and don't have the same outward "Bulge" like at the start of a sidewall ply separation.
What does your tire shop say? As already asked can you post some pictures?

I honestly don't know why everyone keeps buying Michelin tires. I never have and never will own one. Is it because they say rv on them or the rebate thing. There are better less $$$ tires out there that don't have zipper blow outs or sidewall cracking that manufacture says is normal and is not a problem. JMHO

And we on the other hand never buy anything but Michelins because of the great tires they make. The only things that we own that doesn't have Michelins are the utility trailer and wheelbarrows.

I have been running Michelins for the last seven years with zero problems. As for zipper blowouts, well, that is what happened to one of my 4 year old Goodyears which caused me to throw away the whole set and buy the Michelins.

I just bought Continental's today because the Michelin's were not available.

I would have concerns about that. More concern from manufacturing than mounting.
