Can't find zerks on steering gear...
on my chassis manual UG7-4, it lists 3 zerks related to steering:
- steering gear output shaft 1
- steering column slip shaft, top and bottom 2
but i just couldn't find them. am i blind or is their manual wrong? i am trying to understand why even there is no zerk on gearbox. has anyone found and lubed those?
thanks.

The important ones are the u-joints and slip joint on the steering shaft. May be difficult to find but my guess is they are there, especially on the slip joint. The Ujoint zerks are usually on the slip joint side of the ujoint and in the center. May need to put your finger in there to find them.
The one on the steering box output shaft was designed to assist the dust/dirt shield in keeping debris out of the internal seal area. This one may not be there depending on the steering gear installed on your coach.

My old rig has one u-joint in the steering column in the cockpit. One U-Joint in the LF driver side basement. One zerk accessed from underneath the chassis.
Yours may differ.

back to my original question - i was looking for zerks. there are no zerks on steering from top to down. the ujoints do not have zerks , so does steering gearbox. lubing outside will not be good enough i suppose. but the chassis manual says 3 there....

Hmmmm
It has been my experience that some steering links have pre-lubed bearings. Yours may be one of those. A call to the CC parts About Country Coach Corporation | Country Coach Corporation might give you some info if it is or not. JMHO

Maybe your manual description is a hold-over from prior years. It would be easier not to have to lube the U-joints especially in the cockpit.

Most of the steering shaft u-joints are non-greasable, usually there is a grease fitting for the slip shaft and occasionally the steering gear box will have one near the output shaft. Most manufacturers specify NOT to grease that one with a power grease gun as they can bypass the internal seal. Also it's not uncommon for the owners manual to not match the actual construction of the RV, often suppliers change and the manual doesn't.
