Have been working hard on awning lighting and finally found a neon look that will fit in the 1/4” opening on the bottom on the awning. Lighting is 6mm wide by 12mm deep and press fits in perfectly. I used Windex to help side in and put silicone adhesive every few feet, works awesome so far. (Carefree Awning, have not tried others, 2008 Affinity)
I ran the wires along the arms with the wind sensor wire, along the roof in split loom and dropped down behind refrigerator. (I had it out to replace) you can go to the stereo cabinet and drop down there and pick up 12 volts.
Installed a simple RF controller with remote. Did not dim, not necessary.
Most LED lights are 5M, 16.4’, my front awning is 20’, rear is 16’, bought the 50’ roll so I didn’t have to splice which is tricky to do.
Can sit out at night to eat and do whatever or turn off as needed.
Just another project if you’re looking for one.
