Cat motor number

I have a 1998 Country Coach Affinity 40 foot with the 455 horse power motor. Is this Cat a C10 or a C12?

Thank you all in advance for all your input. Tim

Cat motor number

Tim,

I am going to say it is a C-12 engine based on horse power and coach model.

But, you can call the caterpillar rv hotline 1-877-777-3126, supply them with the engine serial number, and they will tell you all they know about the engine.

Luck,

Bob

The 455 Hp makes it a C-12. That's the standard engine in that vintage Affinity.

Definitely not a C-10. Max HP for a C-10 is 385.

Check the CAT manual you should have. If you don't have one you should consider having CAT send you one. I read mine throughly when I got our coach. Ours is below our sofa.
