CC of the nintys, towing specs.???

Not finding a lot about the towing specs for the CC in the Nintys. Monaco Dynastys would tow, legally, up to 10,000s pretty much across the board.

What about the 34,36 CC in the 1993 to 1998 time frame? Intrigue or Magna? I have seen referencss to 5000 lb limits but got to believe that a coach of CC quality on the Gillig Chassis was legal for more than that. Some discussion about who put the hitch on, Gillig or CC, hence one wouldn't stand behind the other and just set a limit of 5000 lb. Does anyone have their paperwork that shows the towing limits. I want to tow a 7000 lb pickup and do it legally. Posting on the Class A forum didn't bring out much discussion in the CC area.

Since the hitch says country coach do you think it was put on by country coach vice already being on the gillig chassis. Since CC may have added it what does Gillig say about towing capability of their chassis in that case? CC says their hitch can handle 7000lbs, is Gillig ok with a 7000lb hitch on that particular chassis? I have heard of some disagreement between the two companies regarding the hitch thing. If CC added it Gillig might only sign off on 5000 lb. capability.

Assuming all done done legal...

Gillig manufacturers a top line product as does Country Coach.

The engineers at CC designed the MH as a "System", so we can ASSUME that either the chassis or the hitch has the limitation of 7000 pounds, and that there is the required margin above that in the weakest part.

Given the amount of lawyers around it is also a safe assumption that CC would have rated the system for less that actual capactity to insure some margin of error.

Gillig laughed at our "3500 pound limit" label that CC placed on ours...

The GCVW is the limiting factor here regardless of how solid the chassos or hitch actually is.

So the box on the chassis needs to be considered too, the chassis can only support a certian amount of weight, and can be combined with another certian amount of weight that when combined with the gross weight of the chassis cannot exceed the GCVW

Our coach has a 7,000 pound towing capacity sticker on the rear bumper. I have a 1994 original brochure, and nowhere in it or on the coach is there a posted GCWR. We had a motorcycle lift intalled, which is a class IV (10,000 lb) hitch, although the only thing we tow is our 06 Nissan Maxima.
