Considering an 05 Inspire 36’

Hello,
Looking at a 2005 Inspire 36’ with 43k miles. Wife saw pictures of it on Craigslist and the floorplan reminds her of the Journey 36G we sold in 2012. We’ve been doing travel trailers since we sold it, but ready to go back into Class A land and I was always interested in the CCs.

Any suggestions of key items to look at or problematic issues when we inspect it this weekend?

Thanks

If the radiator checks out, and paintwork/clearcoat is OK on the exterior, then a clean coach inside would make me want to race you to the closing table.

A great coach you're looking at, IMO

05 CC Siena

I have a 2005 Inspire Siena.
My wife and I have enjoyed ours for the lady 8 years and 70k miles.
Overall it’s a great solid built coach. The 400 hp Cat is a strong engine for the coach.
Leaking radiator, fogged windows, and pto conversion to a wet spline are a few items to investigate. Also check for micro checking in the finish, especially in the dark colors. Some micro checking will be inevitable but you don’t want it to be to severe. Age of tires, shocks if original and service records are very important.
If it has the original Norcold refrigerator I would consider it to dangerous to keep and replace it with the Samsung RF18 unit.
Overall I would say go for it if it checks out.

Thanks guys.
Looks like we are the new owners of a Country Coach. Radiator, Windows, and PTO all checked out. It has Norcold with recall and tires are dated. So, a couple high dollar adds, but it seems like we got a dang good deal so don't feel bad at all about having to get these taken care of.

We have a lot of fun with great people. Get a set of tires on first thing then work you way down on the list.

We have the twin coach to ronandsue74, only a few serial numbers apart. It is a good, solid, well built motorhome. We had the common problems many have, like it did not have the "wet" PTO and it failed on us while in Newfoundland! No problems with the radiator, a couple with the Norcold fridge, a few minor things. Bought it in 2011 with 26,000 miles and now has 94,000 and we are on another trip to Alaska presently. I think you will be well pleased with your coach. I would rather have ours than most of the new poor quality coaches they are being built presently.

2005 Inspire

Nice! I think you will enjoy it.
You may want to consider this refrigerator upgrade.
Sorry I don't know how to rotate the pic.

Made an appointment today for the Fridge replacement. Now hunting for tires. 2Stroker pointed me to FMCA. After these two quick mods, I am ready to roll!

OK, thanks. Looks like yours may set a little lower, more room at the top than my 197.
