This is interesting, say your alternator seizes up and smokes your belt
But because you have a spare and were able to un seize the alternator

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...t39-2jJDY9Eua_

Even if alternator does not function after freeing and your generator will charge chassis battery

You could get to a repair facility

My concern would be the oil in the alternator catching fire

OMG!!! The risk some people will take to avoid a tow bill .

Maybe on a $350. 1987 Buick it'd be worth a try , never on a coach .

You have to watch the U tube video , showing pumping oil into the seized alternator to free it up .

The really , really wild stuff starts " Hold my beer and watch this !"

Good luck with the belt search , post numbers if you find one to fit .

If we don't hear from you ; we'll figure you got Vicki's tape measure dirty and paid the price.

Don't mention my name or location .

Skip never few words hold true
Watched an Uncle flip a jeep on a hill climb
Jeep landed upside down hand came out holding beer upright
And a shout for a little help dont want to spill my beer

Unfortunately a true story

And mums the word on Vicki's tape measure
I will probably get bored and try it one day

OK and I have to add a little more detail to all the levity. Those of us with Caterpillar engines can actually run without the serpentine belt. The water pump is internally gear driven. There are some negatives that come with that feature as well; but a Cat C10 C13 class engine does not need the serpentine belt for the water pump to work.

Why do people always try to fool [mod edit] expensive toys? Just carry a spare belt, and change your tensioner now too. You’re towing a taxi!
