Country Coach Sikkens Paint

Hello All,
Here is a interesting request! I just noticed my coach was painted using Sikkens paint. It was a European paint as I remember and a high end paint dollar wise.
Now they don't do automotive paint. I have the codes but who carries the cross-over paint codes say to DuPont.
I have to admit that after 28 years the paint is still good where it was not in direct contact with the sun.
Does Sikkens still make auto paint? Does someone have the cross over numbers?
I know it can be color matched but that is not an accurate match like with the real numbers and then a clear coat.
Any answers out there?
Thanks again, Don

Hey Don,

See if your Sikkens codes can be crossed referenced to PPG codes. PPG is widely used in the paint industry.

I have tried to cross the paint codes and was not able to. I did find Sikkens paint in Eugene OR. This was a few years ago. One of the counter people was the head of the paint dept at CC and knows everything about the paint. I can’t get to his number until next week. My coach was in the shop when they had to close because of the virus from a customer. You could ask one the the shops in Junction City for the cross reference or the name of the paint store. They will ship paint to you. If you still need the number will be glad to get it for you, just pm me on CC Facebook page or here.

Sickens paint

Just yesterday I received a bottle of touch up paint from API Oregon for a 2006 CC. Very prompt, and it matches perfectly. I certainly supplied the paint code. Their on the web, or call 541-686-9946. Touch up @15 + shipping $15.

I have had PPG paint matched to the lower green on my Sikkens painted coach.

But, they were not able to match the other shades of blue/green using their computer.

There is an automotive paint shop in my area that advertises using Sikkens paint, so it must be still available.

Just bought Sikkens paint last month to repaint both bumpers in COOS BAY Oregon at the paint dealer, he was super helpful as I needed a base coat and a pearl type for my Country Coach Concept.
API coatings Sikkens dealer.

Don't worry about trying to find Sikkens paint.. If your paint is old, which I think it is, you need to have a sample of the pant taken to a paint shop and let them match it. I just had the coach painted above what I call the "belt line" and it was matched perfectly. I have no idea what brand of paint used but the match is perfect.

If you are going to have someone do the painting, let them do the paint matching. If you try to match, it could be wrong and then it is your dime, not theirs.

Thanks to All for the info. I will wait for Mike to get me a name when he gets his rig out of the shop. I need to spot in four different colors and this will be my last paint job. With the cost of paint and the manpower costs I will do it myself. The exact color codes are needed to get a blend to look decent. Have most of the clear coat off of the gel-coat,that was a major operation! My poor ol' coach needs a house...Thanks for the help, Don

The paint computer at 2 different shops could not scan match my paint anywhere near close so we used the paint codes.
With Sikkens paint.

So, did using the paint codes work for matching on your project?

They open on May 4 and I’ll get you the info sometime in the morning Calif time. I have the paint codes for the 06 Inspire brown, maroon, tan.

Thanks pogoil, I can see you know what I'm facing on a color match. Do you have a phone # for that paint store? Ill bet the price per quart will be plus or minus $150.00. I will need 5 quarts.

Sikkens Paint

Sikkens paint is a product line of AkzoNobel and is sold world wide. AkzoNobel manufacturers and sell around 50 lines of paint. It is a premium line of automotive paint and getting paint made from one of their codes is no problem, if you have the number and contact one of their paint dealers. You just have to find the automotive paint dealer closet to you and give them the number. Use the internet to find their nearest regional office and they can give you the closest local dealer. I have a fan deck from them and have been able to match almost all of the colors on my 08 coach. (Fans decks are very hard to come by)
