My dash air was repaired in the Phoenix area six years ago, if I recall right it was over $1000. When it went out again, I decided never to have it fixed and use the roof air which does a far better job. You may want to consider that. Seems to be no difference in gas mileage. When it is extremely hot outside I close the bedroom door and only cool the front.
