Delaminating seam

Morning,

I’m going to try for some advice again on this same delam issue along a seam that butts right up to the slide box framing. The seam is fine for about 2’ down from the radius of the roof corner, starts to come apart for about 30 or so inches down and then fine again down to the bottom. I don’t believe it’s from water damage, I think it just came apart from a life in AZ. Sun. The panel appears 1/4” thick. I going to throw this fix out there and check reaction..lol possibly a few screws? This is right behind and parallel with the framing trim piece on DS bedroom slide. I’m a little po’d that it wasn’t brought up in PDI . Thanks

Stone

There is an edge piece sealing the sidewall on the body where the slide boxes are located. The delam may have occurred if the edge was not sealed. I’ve seen it a couple of times.

The correct fix is to remove slide to get at body sidewall - inject addition glue and clamp fiberglass to bring back to original thickness and straightness. Then the edge seal is reinstalled and sealed. Of course if substrate is swelled it requires a bigger fix.

Is this the seam you are talking about. This is behind my DS bedroom slide.

Screws would work but look sh!++y, farm’rd, in my opinion.

Can you post a picture? I'm having trouble imagining what you're seeing.

Thanks Brian, as usual you’re dead on with getting where I’m going with my posts. Your finger in the pic is about exactly where I’m talking, and I totally get your explanation of the fix, and lol’d out loud about your thoughts on screws, even though let’s be honest if the board behind looks good it would work quite well, but I get it. If I pm you can we discuss further? I swear I would post a pic if and when I could figure on how to do it. I just retired so I don’t have access to my dump truck where I could epoxy the edge and use a load clamp to push against the bed and the MH while curing. Thanks for your insight.

It is exactly where he is pointing. The vertical seam which is tucked behind the slide box trim piece.
