Depends on the region where you live. I look up and call a local oil distributor. That will probably get you the best price and then you can get the 5 gallon pails if you want. If you get the pails you will need to but a pump as well. Otherwise, you will buy it by the case which is three 1-gallon containers per case. Whoever you call make sure they understand it’s Delo 100, not Delo 400 as they tend to default to the much more common Delo 400.

Rotella still makes straight 40wt Diesel oil meeting the Detroit specifications. I always ran that in my 8V71 detroit. It is still available at the TSC (Tractor Supply) locations around here anyway.
