Drivers side rear of coach seems a bit wavy

Hi everyone. 2005 Magna 630. Just bought. I had it detailed today and read the post from the gal that bought an older CC like mine and it was delaminating.

Just sharing I have a slight appearance issue that when I knock on this area above the radiator it kind of has a bit of give. The rest of the coach is like knocking on wood. This area is slightly flimsy if this makes any sense.

Please tell me nothing to worry about.

Tomorrow is an axle seal and an inverter inspection. Just replaced radiator on generator

Schedule full with my new toy. No time for a real problem.

Thanks

Tom

If you are unsure and concerned I would plan a trip to Junction City, Oregon to see the folks at Premier for an inspection.

Press on the areas that sound different, are they spongy? That's a bad sign. How much it costs to fix depends on the details - mold, extensive material replacement, paint matching, etc - and how you want those details addressed.

Solo. Not spongy but almost like there is a different type of materiel behind the FG exterior.

My area of concern is just aft of the slide. Could be some bodywork that was done too. Car fax did not show any but I’m sure they don’t catch everything. Could also be nothing but thought I’d run it by the forum to be sure. Thx

On the axle seal, I would do both sides, save yourself an issue later down the road.

Just a guess, based upon what I've read about some of these issues.

The location of the distortion appears to be in line with a vertical wall member that frames the slide-out opening. To me, that indicates a separation of the wall from the inside framing. How CC bonded the sides to the frame, I don't know, but the fact that it appear to bulge, has a "bit of give," and "sounds like a different material," all point to a separation, IMO. Whether or not that is the same as a delamination, I'm not sure. I would second the suggestion to take it to Junction City and have it checked out. Expect the worst, hope for the best.

Is the area of concern near the small door for the electrical cord....perhaps between it and the slide opening but slightly below the level of the small door?

I recently broke the plastic door to the power cord space and, in the process of removing the old door to replace it, I discovered that all the wood framing around that thing was completely rotten from water intrusion. I dug all the rotted wood out (it was almost reduced to dust) and checked as best I could for any delamination in the area. My exterior fiberglass seems OK and there is no bulge in that area. I replaced the rotted wood around the opening with some thick plastic I had (sort of like a thick cutting board material) and installed the new door. I caulked around the new door much better than the original so I hope it will not leak. That door is not watertight so water can get into that space.

Just something to check.
