Echo charger

Question:

The echo charger in my 2005 Magna seems to be bad, I have tested it with a volt meter but not sure I am doing it correctly although it should be a beginners test . But what should it read ? and should it read that on both legs or only when it switches over ?

I believe its a dual Xantrex and is probably is original equipment .

I am thinking to just replace it with a new one and am wondering if there is
a better replacement for it ? a new Xantrex is $125 so not that big of deal.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here is a link to the Echo charger manual where you can find a troubleshooting guide http://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrT6...pkUHy3Scxhfis-

If you decide to replace it, a charger from Magnum Energy is a good one to get. Magnum Energy ME-SBC Smart Battery Combiner Compatible with 12V or 24V Systems

IMarine is the cheapest place to buy inverters and associated hardware.

Check the in line fuses. I had one blown and after replacing it, all was well

Don is right. I replaced my Echo Charger, on my Inspire, with the Magnum from a local Marine store that I had an account with. Much better unit.
