Electric door lock

Does anyone have any idea if the electric door lock has it's own battery,
besides the one of the key FOB.
After turning off the interior electric switch, then the main power switch
I could push the button on the key FOB and the lower door lock would lock
and I would get that little blinking light. Suddenly it has stopped working if the
MH sits for a few days. I changed the battery in the remote, but it still does not
work . If I start up the coach, it will work normally , until the next time.
Trying to understand everything..once I shut down the interior switch
and the switch in the battery compartment. Is this door lock still
connected to the chassis batteries? I'm sure it has a very low draw while
on, correct? I thought that maybe where ever the unit is located at, it might
have like a rechargeable battery and after 5 years it needs to be changed.
Thanks

My electric door lock is inhabited by demons and spirits. It waits and locks on it's own at irregular intervals. Several exorcists (RV technicians) have been unable to fix. The actual button on the key fob has never really worked right.

Dave,
I'm not sure if yours would be the same as my 05 Inspire but when I turn off the switch in the battery compartment (chassis) then my electric door lock/unlock is not powered.

I have no idea why it suddenly started working as it should. I had the coach serviced and suddenly it working as it should. I watched as they serviced the coach and about the only thing they did was service the battery posts, so maybe I had a loose connection or one that needed cleaning.

On a second note, my rear view camera suddenly stopped working . I found out that during one of my "what does this button do or change" I turned off the rear view camera on my radio . If all else fails..."read the manual" it's back working as it should...

A while back Kevin Waite told me one of the problems was the wires that go into the door. Many times those get worn and rub against each other causing shorts. Check to make sure yours are not doing that.
