Emergency exit window operation?

How do the emergency exit windows operate once you initiate the handles? Do the windows hinge up or fall out?
Coach is in storage cant look but was wondering. Do all of them operate the same?

Thanks,
Greg

Should we even try to open the emergency widow?
Would like to know every thing is functional and able.to open prior to an emergency
Is there maintenance that should be performed to keep everything operational

I can't say for sure on yours but on any TT and MH that I have had they just swing open on the top. One day I was driving and the driver's side one started flopping in the wind. Evidently as the wife had gotten in and out of bed she had bumped the latch handles enough that they shook undone. If I were you I would try them to make sure they work before needed

A buddy of mine was cleaning his rig, and moved the emerg window handles out of his way, and to his shock, it popped out and fell on the ground.

Lucky for him, it didn't break. So be careful if you decide to try it. Maybe have someone outside, ready to catch it.

Each RV will be different so it's important that you and your wife both open the window to see how it operates.

When we have over night guests I make them open the window just to be safe.

Someone with your brand/year/model coach will need to confirm whether or not the Emergency window is hinged at the top.

That being said, you should test open each one to know how they operate and guarantee they will open easily in an emergency. The rubber seal tends to stick if unused for long periods and it can take quite a blow to release the window. Now would be a good time to open them, clean the seal and frame, an even apply a bit of silicon spray on the rubber.

Again, be prepared for the window to fall if it is not hinged at the top.

This is exactly what I am trying to do. Find out how it works in our coach.
04 country coach intrigue 40' tag axle quad slide.
Best to know before the emergency
We have added additional fire extinguishers but everyone needs to know how to get out safely...just like your home

First question is if the window is made by sigi and are the latches on the side? The problem with testing is the hardware may break when trying to test then you have a hard hunt for the parts. On my 08 magna and an 05 inspire we had the window hinged at the top.It just does not open easily. It takes a good push or kick on the bottom. When re latching i had to hold the window about horizontal and let it slam shut to re-latch.
If sigi you might reconsider testing and just assume it works and if the time comes to use in an emergency be prepared to pull latch and kick the window out. It will either release the latch as planed or break the latch. You will get out.
