Thanks Mike. I was under the coach yesterday..looks like a broke wire but I have a selection of funnels so it's no big deal right now..just something for the fixit list.

Hello, if I might ask a follow on question. My engine is a 2005 CAT C-13. I have the oil tank shown in the picture. I thought it was automatic the the tank kept the engine at the correct level. From this conversation, I need to manipulate the system to add oil to the engine. Do I have this right? Thx, Bill.

The oil tank is used to add oil to the crankcase. It is powered by an electric pump that is turned on my the switch at the tank. If you do not hear the pump then I would start looking at a fuse or bad connection to the pump motor..

This above. CAT C13

2 gallon tank "Add Oil" system (8 quarts actually). No pumps run when I push the switch down as far as I can tell...No pump whirring, no decrease of oil in the sight glass..No blown fuses in run box or house that I have found yet..

Was just wondering if I need to have the engine running or if I'm doing something wrong or something else...

Manual just says push switch and watch add amount via glass.

Those of you who use this system please chime in on what I should be expecting based upon your use.

That’s pretty much how mine worked on my 2005 Affinity with the C13.
When you turn the switch on does the oil level drop on the oil reservoir gauge? If not then you may have an issue with it. I thought mine had a pump on it. I sold mine a year ago and really didn’t have to use the reserve oil often.

Thank you. A switch right at the tank. Do you have a pic?

No...nothing happens when I turn the switch...but underneath the coach below the tank where the pump is mounted I found a broke red wire. Guessing power..minor issue now since I can add oil manually the old fashioned way.
