On the Power Gear slide, you have to disengage the motor to manually move the slide. There is a sort of lever on the motor that performs this function. Once released, you use a wrench to rotate the shaft to manually move the slide. If you did shear a pin on one of the gears, that may explain the problem.

Roger did disengage it. It only would go a few inches if that and stop.

Would that be a sheared pin then you think?

We had Ron's rv repair come today. They checked everything. Motor was fine, wiring was fine. The slide finally moved after jiggling then stopped. A few more times and it worked. They have no idea why it stuck.
Maybe off balance? They were thinking the "controller?" But didn't know where it is located. I looked in the big CC "bible" but couldn't find anything.
So, we'll see what happens tomorrow when we pack up to leave again.
Thanks all for your input!!!

On our first big trip out with our Allure, and as newbie slide owners, we got our driver slide 'cocked' off center a bit as we tried to extend the slide. We were Sparks, NV and it was 105 outside when we pulled off for the night. We had both AC's running on high when we hit the 'open' button. No windows were open, and that put such a strain on the system and it cried 'uncle'!

We learned to have a window open for both open/close slide operations. We also learned to wait for to the count of five after open/close of slides, to allow the 'syncing' of the motors. With the help of the CC Yahoo board, we got the system out all of the way.

I post this here, in case others may not know about keeping a window open while open/close of the slides, and giving it a few seconds at the end of each motion to 'sync', though 'I think' this is only on opening.

Glad you got yours to work again, and wonder if you might have an intermittent ground, or other loose wire connection?

Best of luck, and please keep us updated on how things go!
Smitty

Thanks Smitty. We'll remember to keep a window open and count after we open. Good information.
Will let you know tomorrow if we make it to Georgia!!!

Update on slide! It came in perfect this morning and we just arrived in Georgia and.... Now it won't go out. If it stays this way it will be a right three weeks with three large dogs.
Maybe we can find a mobile unit in myrtle beach. Sigh

Sheila, roger and the gang. Making coffee and then I'll feel better!!

Camping connections in Myrtle Beach has a mobile tech. I used them a few years ago and they were great.

Is the voltage good? Do you have the engine running when you operate the slide? I'm puzzled. You can almost stick your fingers in the gap around the slide once out a little. I assume its not touching sides or top. I have heard the slides having trouble when power is not at the top. Keep us posted.
