Head unit upgrade

Hey there...I've seen all the videos of Brian upgrading head units in these CC coaches to the "halo style" Alpine, Pioneer etc app radios.

Has anyone here tried to upgrade to one of those China made radios running Android OS?

This is kinda what I was thinking:

https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-ne...80-screen.html

https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-ne...rotatable.html

I'm willing to listen to any opinions or experience with these

TIA;

I did Joyings 10" display. Very happy with it.
I have already loaded many of my apps that I need for the coach, Navigation, Fuel finders, Rest top finders etc.
Amp is very powerful you will not need a additional amp.
WIFI hook's up great.

Does the Joying unit display the factory cameras and switch appropriately feeds with turn signals, on reverse and through the dash button?

I was thinking of doing what you did with the apps which is why I thought of that head unit. Can you share a pic?

Thanks for responding!
Cheers

Yes it can do that using the camera input, my dash monitor handles that now, I may swap it to the Joying time will tell.

Sorry for the quality I'll take more if you like.

Binize 10" worked perfectly

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B5SW9RM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I upgraded my 2012 Pioneer Headunit with this Binize and it worked perfectly. It is only 1" thick and very light compared to the back heavy Pioneer unit that was 8" deep. I use iPhone so the apple carplay works but through BT and it connects automatically wirelessly most times. If I connect through USB port it connects perfectly. Very happy. I only use it for radio and backup camera. It connected perfectly first time once settings are set. The issues I thought were with the factory cameras and video equipment was wrong as it was the Pioneer that failed showing the camera outputs. Once the new unit was in place all three camera worked well.

What make and model did you go with? Are you happy with the functions/sound?

This radio sounds much better than the 1998 am/fm cassette radio. I’m still using the Bose speakers.

Looks good.

I chose my system because of wireless Apple carplay capability. It works perfectly once paired however its not perfect. It has so many featuresi don’t use. Apple CarPlay is on a secondary menu called Z-Link. I wish it was on primary screen. All the capabilities of this head unit are amazing considering the $200 price. I definitely recommend this for someone that needs a new head unit.

How do you trigger the rear camera? Arn’t these units depending on a reverse signal, and/or if you set it to the rear camera will it stay that way or timeout and go back to whatever was displayed prior?

I’m on the fence with these units, I like the CarPlay nav aspect, but I also need a rear camera, especially in denser traffic areas. Seems like you can’t really do both with these unless you hard wire a toggle switch.

Or am I overthinking this?

I connected the same camera wires that were connected to the Pioneer head unit to the new Binize head unit. Worked perfectly. Actually better since the Pioneer head unit was non functional with the camera system when I purchased it. I'm sure it worked when originally upgraded in 2012. The new head unit took the signal from the switching boxes and the three signals for reverse and left and right turn signals operate perfectly now.

@caryt

I was reading more about this last night. Apparently these Joying head units have a TPS monitoring capability too. Are you using that?
