Headlight upgrade????
We have a 2001 CC Intrigue. Changed nearly all outside lights to LED'S, except the headlights. Was wondering if anyone had changed their's to an upgrade!? Thanks for any insight....

I don't have an answer for you yet, but what kind of set up does it have: Sealed beam or is there a bulb inserted into the back of the housing?

It is a sealed beam. One has thought it to be Ford Bronco sealed beam. Probably need to remove it and take it to an zuto parts store. Retro-fitting it could be a challenge.

You can get them on Amazon but they aren't dot certified. They are not sealed beam. The fog/running lights are.

my coach has the same headlights as 87-91 F150/250/bronco do. if you are thinking about upgrading, you might just go get a new pair from ebay, $162/pair. no light bulbs in it, you would install leds yourself. click here.
it looks nice and inexpensive.
i replaced my light bulbs so i had some experience on taking the assembly out. it requires some patience, a longer arm helps. but it's doable.

Regardless with the approach you take, I always recommend adding relays to get the voltage up at the bulbs. Nothing specific about CC but mine was only delivering about 9.5 volts to the low beams. After adding relays and tying into a big supply cable at the front of the coach I now get just about whatever the alternator is delivering, and that's about 14.25 volts which is a 50% improvement in power delivered to the bulbs and that directly translates into lumens. Whether it's LED or quartz halogen you'll definitely see the difference, and filament type bulbs last longer and stay brighter. I'm not a fan of LED conversions because of the light spray/glare that is a result of the defocused light in the reflector housing. No one likes driving a motor at night but it sure is safer when you can see!

I count on one hand, the number of times we've driven at night, so this has not been a priority for me.
When we do our front end makeover (Removal of 3M. Repair a few road blemishes. Etc.), we'll have the front end changed over to accommodate more modern lighting. I plan to order the lights via Daniel's site, and get advise at that time. Advise is because you will find that higher fuses and gage wires and perhaps a relay(?) is involved on these change overs to higher end LED's or Halogen lighting.
Here is the site:

Best to all,

I replaced the standard bulbs in my '09 Magna with LED's. Total waste of money. Had a great spread of light, but only about 50' down the road, then it was dark. Took them out and went with high output bulbs. Much better and, hopefully, I won't need to drive at night anymore.

I am trying LED bulbs in my 2001 Intrigue right now. Not sold on them yet. Might try a little more adjusting before I give up on them.

a friend of mine installed this on his car, he said it's brighter than hid.
https://m.ebay.com/itm/MOSTPLUS-H11-...pid=1461066794
but on the flip side, a user of it didn't think so that he recommended 55 watts hid morimoto. there is a youtube video showing that 55 watts hid morimoto was very bright in real world.

Headlight upgrade
I realize this thread has been dormant for a month. Some of my fellow CC owners with the giant outdated '91 Ford headlights, like ours, might be interested in a quote I got from Premier RV in JC.
Approx. $6000 modify the front end to accept newer headlights like CC's had just before the business went under.
If just one of us would pony up the $ and makeover their front end, I would be very interested to see the results........

Maybe a raffle? If there was a place to have this modification affordably done, it would bring our coaches into the new millennium. They would look < 10 years old for sure.
