Help for pacbrake — ON

As Pacbrake switch is out of the drivers vision, I added 2 things to our 2001 Intrigue. First came a small dia. Screw x 3/4 long threaded into the rockers sw. It made finding it easier. Second was an LED light mounted in the lower center of the dash. One wire goes to ground. The other wire goes all the way back and ties into the solenoid wire, as close as I could get to the solenoid. Works great.

May be several options here:


Relocate the switch.


Depending on engine, select another "activates exhaust brake" program. My favorite is to program so that the exhaust brake switch is left on all the time. Let off the throttle and you coast. Touch the service brake and the exhaust brake automatically comes on and stays on even if you let off the service brake. Exhaust brake turns off if you just tap the throttle.


No idea what engine you have or if this option is available, but call your engine manufacturer with your engine serial number and ask.

Sounds like great ideas! Do you have a picture of the switch w/screw by any chance?

On our Intrigue the activation light is grouped with the master warning lights on the dashboard. After driving the first thousand miles or so I can easily find the rocker switch for the PacBrake with my left hand and the activation light is very noticeable in my field of vision.

I love to modify stuff but at least on our older Intrigue this mod did not seem necessary.

I leave the pac brake on all the time. If I want to coast, I just keep my foot on the throttle enough to disengage the brak
