Many of the Allison transmissions have newer transmission fluid available then the tes-295. Allison consider it better and it backward compatible. TES-668.. I think you can get a 5 gal bucket from NAPA for around $200.

I'd be all over that if I could find it. Of course it has to be certified to TES-668 and not "engineered to meet TES-668". I'm still waiting on Summit.

On Allison's website is a dealer locator. Our nearest Allison dealer has, as of yesterday afternoon, 83 gallons of the latest Transynd.

Yes, you can take the fan controller apart and clean out the solenoid. Simple job. MAKE SURE THE ENGINE HAS BEEN OFF FOR ABOUT 20 to 30 MIN to relieve any pressure. Unscrew the hose and unscrew the valve pin to the solenoid. Use some wd40 or carb cleaner. Make sure the o-rings are clean and put back together. should work. I did this on the road and it solved the problem. Replaced the fan controller when i got home.

Made it back to home safely.

Turtee2 stored away in its winter capsule and we have made the journey back to our mountain home for the winter.

First thaw I plan to retrofit to the SourceE wax valve...and then have the air suspension serviced and baselined...fixing what needs fixing and adjusting what needs adjusting...will do alignment, ride heights, ride height valves, 6 pack solenoids and possibly new shocks...and of course yearly maintenance...

Then I can get back to doing the cool stuff.

So I am confident that I can fully put this topic to bed.

After recent completions of spring service (our aquahot works! Yay) we have the wax valve installed and working, new brakes..fixed axle seals and yesterday Wagner Power (CAT) gave a once over, cleaning and service of our c13, radiators and updating our ECU..

Today we drove home our CC Magna, towing our 9K pound Ram 2500 we pulled Eisenhower grade in Colorado and NEVER saw temps above 210....wasn't the fastest traverse I've ever done and I'm sure some higher HP Cummins units could do it quicker, but we made it UP and DOWN without so much as a hiccup and I now feel that we have the dead reliable coach we paid for for the foreseeable future.

I am very grateful for everyone's help on here and extend a heartfelt thank yous to this CC community.


It's my sincere hope that this thread can serve as a learning beacon for folks who might suffer this problem across all Coach manufacturer lines.

Congrats on the new ride! Probably(?) no wet kit will be required... Best place to confirm this, would be on the Newmar Owner's section. Maybe ask the Admin to move this question over to that group.

Yes, I've taken apart the solenoid on the road or camped. It's not hard to do at all I don't know how to describe it to you it's pretty obvious if you look at it. I took mine apart at the suggestion of danfoss to clean it. You could call Danfoss. The other possibility is that your fan motor has failed.
