Nope, it works fine. Been this way since day one.
From what HWH told me, the systems try to level from the rear first

Don, it sounds like you are using the small compressor to level your rig rather than the engine compressor?
On my rig that could take forever.
From the HWH Manual:
AUTOMATIC LEVELING
Start the coach engine. Set the park brake. Push the "AIR"
button one time to turn the system on. Push the "AIR" button
a second time. This will start automatic leveling. The following
should occur:
a. The four red warning lights will be on.
b. The indicator light above the "AIR" button will start to flash.
c. The master warning light will be on.
d. The coach will automatically level itself. The leveling procedure
is as follows:
If there are no yellow lights the control box will go directly
into a sleep mode.
If there are yellow lights on, leveling will start in a down
mode, deflating air bags opposite to lit yellow level indicator
lights. After 2 minutes if the coach is not level, the computer
will switch to the "UP" mode, inflating air bags acthe
compressor may run. When all the yellow lights are
are out, the control box goes into the sleep mode.

Hello everyone and thank you,
Dean - I tried it with the engine running today and ended up in the same situation (I ended up with the "Excessive Slope" light on). Although, I was able to get the rig completely level manually, which I was having difficulty doing off of the battery.
Mike - The actual system does not seem to have any indicators, but the paperwork stated it is an HWH Computer-Controlled 2000 Series Leveling System. The operator's manual stated that it can be operated in the On/ACC position, but it does recommend running the engine for better performance.
Don - I had done this previously, to no avail. But I had not done this with the engine on. So I hit the drive position button and after letting it do its thing I hit the level button and ended up with the excessive slope light on. At least this time it was easier to override the system and manually adjust.
Steve - Yeah I hope not, the wife will not be too happy with me if I have to replace the system! Shoot, I won't be too happy with me!
Well, it's too late today, but I have watched every video I can find, reread the manual and tried all of the suggestions, so I guess I will call the rep tomorrow.
Thank you for all of your suggestions and if you have any other ideas, I am open to trying anything.

vChris619 - I have had some issues with my leveling system which is likely the same one as yours. Mine is not perfect but it does work pretty good after having San Diego RV Center replace one of the sensors for leveling last year. I think you are in the San Diego area so you can give them a call if you want. If by any chance you will be going by Moscow IA any time soon call HWH and have them fix it. I have been there once. Most likely they will fix it for less and faster than anyone else. But of course Iowa is a long way from S CA.
Like a couple of others have indicated leaving the main drive motor running is much faster than having it off.

I've spent a lot of time repairing our HWH leveling system. I first had a bad ground wire, then had to replace the 12v air compressor, and finally installed a digital level sensor in the control box.
HWH is a great company that services what they sell. You can send in parts (get an RMA number first) and they will repair them and return them very fast. The price is also fair.
If you decide to tackle the leveling computer, this post explains how to calibrate the leveling sensor (about half way down post #1- Aligning the new Level Sensor.
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/repa...ch-389075.html
With the new digital leveling sensor, our system levels very fast and is almost dead level every time.
This system is in a Monaco Signature but is the same system in a Country Coach. The only thing that should be different is the location of the components.
Hope this helps.

Quick question somewhat related.
How long should my coach stay level. Everything working great. Park. Level.
Only issue is coach wont stay level more than a few hours. It seems to just bump its way down to no air in bags after 24 hours or so.
Tried calling HWH. They are weeks away from getting a call back. Figured Id ask the real pros. The forums
Thanks
Tom

Mine stays level for days. Need to go around with soapy water in a spray bottle and check all joints.

^^ And the airbags. Mine's the same way and I'll be doing that when it doesn't burn to get on the pavement.

My old rig stays level about 1 day in storage with the battery off.
But when the house battery is active, the small 12v compressor will re-level the chassis as needed.
Usually it is most active in the first 36 hours after initially leveling with the engine running.

Our coach stays level with HWH air for months. The compressor will kick in occasionally to supplement the air as needed but all in all I never need to touch anything.

My only recommendation is the shop must have HWH air leveling experience. If not, dont waste your time with them. Ask for references that had similar problems and call them. Many RV shops in our area I wouldnt even trust to check my oil level.
