HWH doesn't want to extend

The last two times I've extended the slide on my coach it didn't want to go out the first time I tried. It would go out about 2 inches and stop. I brought it back in and tried again. On the third time it went out. The motor was running as always. It comes in with no problems when I hit the road.

I was at HWH in July and they checked it out and replaced a fitting. Any ideas what the problem is? Low fluid level? Appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Didn't see a HWH forum section.

unless you are extremely low on fluid, that wont be an issue.
i would look at the switch first. on the back of the the switch, there are six tabs, three in each row. one side controls the solenoids, the other side controls the pump.the center tabs on both rows are positive.
using a 12 volt tester, check that first. with the park brake set, and the key in either ign or acc. then push extend. two of the ta bs in one row, one on each side should show 12 volts+.then push the other. side, you should et the same results.
if you dont get an immediate response from the switch tabs, replace the switch.
i have found that 90 percent of intermittent problems are connections.
check your control box, or 12 volt telays for immediate response. if you cont get 12+ immediately, check the connection first, then replace the relay.
if you have a service manual, use it for. a good diagnosis.
if you dont, email me at pfmaddox@att.net. i will send you one.

Thank you I will start down the list. Today when I put the slide out it worked like it is supposed too. Your switch suggestion may be the culprit.

Thanks again

Both of my slide panels and I assume the front leveling panel are without power. NO lights and no light on HWH reset switch either. Several led lights on both downstairs panels. I have checked the two HWH fuses in fwd bay and the inside coach fuse panel HWH fuse. I also check the slide 200A fuse above Coach batteries. No change.

start at the 4 pin connector at the control box. two of the wires have 12 volt on them. if no power, follow the wires down to their connection source. the large stud on the master relay. if you have power to the control box, which it looks like you have, check the f10 power fuse in the box. if its blown, you need to have the box replaced, or rebuilt.
use the 2000 air leveling service manual to do the diagnosis. but im betting on the box being bad.

I have the manuals and I can “verify” which LEDS are lit or extinguished. When I first turn IGN SW ON.: On the aft panel in the center electrical bay ROOM 1 & 2 OUTPUT BOARD the top board across the top the last two RED LEDs are on. Those two are ROOM 4 CYL RET LED #16 & ROOM 4 CYL EXT LED #13. REF MP85.1208 23SEP04 manual

The large ROOM 2 I/O BOARD the #20-Red switched battery-in and #19-red switched batt 12v -out LED’s were on. the link led was flashing in the center small board and #14-yellow room 4 select was lit (apparently room 4 selected) that amber lt went out when I switched to “Rm 2” on the aft panel. MP85.1311

In the fwd driver bay the only board visible is central control mother board MP85.1201 several leds were on #11 RED PARK BRAKE LED, #7-RED LINK LIGHT, #4-RED HOUSE BATTERY-IN LED ON, #3-RED SWITCHED 12V-IN LED ON & Finally #1-RED MASTER RELAY CONTROL LED ON.

I tried rooms today and they all extended ...I brought small one in and back before trying the rest. I’m perplexed what happened. Won’t know till Monday if they all go back in without a hitch.

Thanks AZPETE for taking the time to help us fellow RV’ers. I was trying to document what Ltd were normal with pictures etc when it worked again. One I checked boards after all slides were out the only lights on were. Up front #7,3,1 &10. Out back #19,20 & link lt.
