Hydro Hot - 12V Power

Looking for a little help, I have a 07 Allure 430 with a Hydro Hot, I’m trying to figure out what the diesel side of the Hydro Hot is using for 12V power. I had the heater running on diesel in 2 zones this afternoon for about 1 1/2 hours, while watching my battery monitor (Magnum BMK) I was shocked to see the DC output was only around - 0.4 AMPS. I turned off the the house battery switch at the front and noticed that the diesel light switch was still on at the Hydro Hot panel, this made me think that the HH might be wired up to the chassis batteries. I would have thought that CC would have wired the HH up to the house batteries.

I ran out of time this afternoon to check things out so before I start pulling out electrical schematics and tracing wires down tomorrow does anyone have any experience with the Hydro Hot or Aqua Hot 12V wiring?

Thanks

My 2007 Allure 470 has the AquaHot wired to house batteries upstream of the electronic house disconnect. The generator start, alarm system, radio/gps, and power for the electronic house disconnect is also wired upstream.

I have a 30A button breaker (Hydronic main power) in my battery bay.

While I've never verified it on my coach, since it is identical to Brian's I suspect my Aqua Hot is also wired upstream from the house battery switch at the entry door. I have installed a real 400 amp house battery disconnect switch in the battery bay so I can shut them off completely.

If your coach is like mine, there is a factory installed chassis battery disconnect switch in the battery bay. You might try shutting that off while the Aqua Hot burner is running and see what happens. That would confirm if the AH is wired to your chassis batteries.

Finally got down to the coach this morning to test a few things, first I found the 30 Amp breaker that you guys were referring to and 2nd I turned off the house battery disconnect and it shut down the Hydro Hot which confirmed that it’s wired to the house batteries.

Thanks again guys for the help and suggestions.
