Post #31 in the thread that CountryFit sent is my coach. The kit to install real glass headlights is available at the link below. No more polishing of headlights. I used Hella European headlights, for driving on the right side of the road, with H4 halogen bulbs. I now have real headlights like on my other vehicles.
The kit is $360 and the Hella H4 lamps are about $90/pair. It's not a horrible cost for real glass headlights that are of excellent quality. They have a cut off beam that is not blinding to others, but focuses the light on the road where it is wanted.
Hella also makes lights to replace our aging fog lights, that likely have the same rusty and pealing reflectors that mine had. They are available in either a driving light or fog light lens. I decided to just replace all of the lighting at the same time.
This conversion fits nicely and makes a dramatic improvement in both looks and performance from the old faded aftermarket plastic lenses that did not direct light very well and get destroyed in the sun. Glass fixes both of those issues.
