Inverter Issue - Xantrax 3.0 - Need Help

So the symptoms

1. The Silver Leaf Display has a blinking light for INV and a Wrench. On the Display the Charger is in Standby Mode

2. The AC Units, Lights and Plugs all Work

3. The Refrigerator Lights are on but it did not get COLD

4. The chassis batteries will not start coach had to use battery boost (was at the shop and they did not keep it plugged in)

Steps

1. Unplugged from Shore Power and Switch to Generator - No Difference from above

2. Checked Breakers on Generator

Next Steps

1. Was told to Disconnect Red and Black from Xantrax for 30 minutes for hard reset. (Have not completed yet)

2. Curious if issue is related to Chassis Battery

3. Why Refrigerator Lights work but not Cold and if the draw of the compressor is a symptom or another issue

- Chassis Battery drained to low. May need a non smart charger to bring back up to full charge.

- Fridge would seem to be independent, as lights on equal power to outlet.

- If you have not started the disconnect yet. Look for Reset buttons on the unit, and if the unit has fuses for AC, make sure none of them have tripped. The Reset is not quite the same as CTRL-ALT-DEL, more of like just a software refresh - which often clears up a confused control board! (At least that is how it is on the Freedom SW 3012 series. (I've no experience with Prosine 3000 - if that is the unit you have... But, the 3012 was the follow on, so may some similarities.)

Will follow the thread, and hope it all clears up and that the chassis come back to life for you... Sure, diminished life - but better then needing to replace now!

Best,
Smitty

Thanks

Prosine 3.0 does not have reset switch. I looked. Kevin Waite suggested the disconnect - did not have my tools so will need to try later, but can do the battery charger.

Would the low chassis batteries cause this do you think and start by charging them?

Kevin gave you the way to reset the Prosine, so that's a good step to do.

I do not think the Chassis would impact the Inverter.

If the chassis are down that low, good chance you will need a stand alone charger to get them up. Or, do the Boost start again, and drive for at least two hours and let the alternator hopefully start to bring them up enough that the Echo (Assume Echo?) charger can lift them slowly the rest of the way. (Full Proof way, is to put on an independent charger, and bring them back up. Some Smart Chargers have a problem when a battery is too low... So sometimes you need to borrow and old mechanical unit with no brains!!).

Best,
Smitty

I’ll bet that Xantrex took a crap on you. Can’t depend on the Echo Charger to keep batteries up if you are setting more than a week. When parked for extended time turn off the chassis switch. If it is a Xantrex change them to Magnums, they have hard reset buttons and its an easy switch. If your coach is more than five years old those inverts have out lived their usefulness. How old are the batteries and are they AGM or acid? Just my thoughts. Best of LUCK! Always a CRAP shoot!

Well disconnecting for 30 minutes did the job. It is a pain to remove the terminal covers and when I have to replace it will require a reset switch on the new unit.
