Lighted door handle bulb replacement....

It is my understanding that the glass entrance door handle has a bulb in it and lights up for evening use. We have a 2001 Intrigue, but hanle is not lighting...so figured it must be the bulb. Has anyone had to change theirs? Before I start taking things apart I thought maybe someone who has had this experience could share their knowledge....it probably means removing the handle....or the interior panel.....your help would be appreciated.....

Last one I had to do was on our Dutch Star. As I remember I had to take the handle off the side and reseal it. Haven't had to take the one off the Magna yet, if I do I'll use an LED.

My handle had a led bulb, a small circuit board containing the load resistor and a small reflector. Cost was about 10 bux

Ours might be too, just haven't needed to take it apart yet but the light is very white like the old pure white LEDs were.

So, am I to assume I need to take the handle off in order to change the bulb?...or is the access from inside the coach?

On ours , I took the bottom bracket off and took the handle out. The bulb is in the top bracket.

Thanks.....I will take the bottom portion off.....remove the clear handle....and change the bulb in the upper bracket......leaving it sealed to the body....perfect.....should be an easy fix.......your experience and advice is appreciated...

Yours may be different than mine but I removed the 4 screws at the top then push up on that part and never moved the handle being careful not to rip the gasket.

IIRC, the assembly is not sealed to the body, it was free floating

Lighted glass door handle

Well, took my door handle apart today for an "easy" bulb change. Tried to take the very small bulb out, but it crumbled in my two fingers. My bulb is smaller than a #2 pencil eraser. Now to get the broken portion out.......gerrrrr! It was my fault to say out loud it would be an easy fix.....LOL

I have to do this same repair on my 2006 Fleetwood Flair. Any further guidance?

In my Country Coach mine looked like this, and I replaced the whole piece, rather than solder in a new led light into the simple circuit board (has resister in circuit).

Amazon Replacement Handle light

Hope this helps,
Brian

Ok folks, my lighted handle never worked. I replaced the acrylic rod (mine was crazed) when we first got the coach and just forgot about the light.

Now the last time we used the coach, the light would come on intermittently... just a few seconds at a time. Enough to make me want to fix it properly. So, does it only come on when the patio/entry door light is on?

My handle light is currently switched with the patio/entry door light switch - I am thinking of putting it on its own switch. Have yet to go look for the wires inside panel beside passenger seat. Maybe this weekend.
