Looking to down size

My wife really doesn’t like the size of our coach.
She thinks it’s to big and doesn’t like to travel in it. Once at our destination she loves it it’s the getting there.
She thinks a small class c maybe something like the Mercedes sprinter or gas ford in the 25 foot range that we would use it more.
Just for the heck of it I went and looked at one and got a trade in price for mine. They are willing to give me $14,00.00 for mine. He didn’t like my counter offer for his to much.

We like the separation of sleeping area from galley and from salon.

Its all-in-one in a 25'.

Getting there is only a few hours.

Staying there is 24 hours or more.

You can carry more stuff for the stay in 40' than you can in 25'.

Big tanks versus cassette toilet?

I suggest renting a small class C for a few days.

I've got a dollar that says she'll change her mind.

Good idea to rent a Class C and try it for a short trip. And it will have more room then a Class B.

That being said, I do know a couple that downsized from a Dynasty after many, many years and miles of travel - to a Class C Lazy Daze. They're very happy with their choice, and feel it was a better quality then other Class C's that they looked at.

We do have friends that went from a 36' Bounder (Due to age of rig, non slide.) to a Winnebago Class B Via. They took on trip with their old toad, and realized it was just too much weight for the Via. So now have a Honda FIT, that still gives them some concerns at times. Enough so, that they've started taking trips and having to rent a care in a location for getting out and about. They quickly found un-hooking and packing things away from a campground or RV Park to go to town, museum, sight seeing - whatever, got old real quick... They said they're 're-thinking' their Via, and maybe going back to a 32-36' DP so they can take their toad again. (And he said something about 'tight quarters' too. They stopped a few times to spend the a few nights in hotels!)

An an observation, your 36' is sure not a big RV! (But happy wife, happy life...).

I did kind of chuckle, as I'm trying to talk my DW into going up 2' to 42'!

That being said, longer range, we do expect to downsize too. We've been watching the Foretravel IC-37, and Newmar's New Aire. We did go thru the 33', which for such a small package was done very nicely layout and livability wise. I prefer Jake Compression, and the 6.7 is Exhaust. The new year brings a 35' New Aire, with the ISL and I believe Jake Compression... So, we'll keep an eye on these units over the years.

Best to you,
Smitty

You didn't say what you have now. And, what is your camping style? You're going to get the best deal by selling your current RV first. Trading in is almost always be the worst option financially.

Hmmm don't know were my sig went in my first post but it is in my other.
I like driving be it car or motorhome. When going in the rv my first day I like to go 8-10 hours of total time on the road and have done up to 12.
I think I'm doing to have my wife double up on her CBD oil next time.
My plan was to keep this rv until I hang up the keys.

A 25 footer sounds pretty good until it has rained for a few days and you can't spread out. Not a lot of difference between 25 and 36, besides, who is driving? Keep the 36 and double up on the CBD oil
