LR Slide Seal Replacement

OK, I received the new LR slide bottom seal yesterday. I was told to extend the slide, jack up the external wall of the slide (while extended) to allow access to the bottom seal. I made a T for on my jack and attempted to tweak the slide upwards. Nope. The entire coach was being lifted.

I tried to retract the slide a bit and still no more gap in the outside bottom. I watched the slide sidewall inside coach as a gauge to see if I was making any progress.

Rich, you said it was a challenge to change. I get that now (not that I doubted you). No RV service guys are near me I'd use....

Thoughts? I need help!

Thanks in advance.

You do not Jack in the center. You jack on the edge one side at at time.

I need to do this myself and have discussed with Kevin Waite. Put a jack on both ends of the slid just like you have set up in the center and raise the slide. You are only going to get about 1/4" of extra room to work at best. It's a tight fit and a tough job. Those seals were installed at the Factory BEFORE the slide was installed, so replacement was and afterthought.

Take the jack out of the center. If you get good at it, you can come do mine next. LOL

You need to get a plastic tool kind of like a spatula to press the seal down onto the spring that goes over the metal lip. Eric Olsom had some custom tools.
