Thanks in advance!
You're going from a 2019 Newmar to an '05 CC? Wow, whodathunkit? I have to say, being an '05 CC owner, that makes me tingly all over.
I asked similar questions before we bought ours. Here's what I can remember:
1. Check the engine's code log. If it's ever overheated badly, the heads may have cracked. That's a reported weakness of the C13. Otherwise, all reports I've read say that our '05 C13 is a right fine piece of engine.
2. If it has its original radiator (aluminum) then it's not a matter of "if" it will fail, it's "when" it will fail. And replacements/upgrades ain't cheap. Not that that's any big surprise!
3. "Wet spline PTO" vs. "dry spline..." The Allison transmission runs a hydraulic pump via a PTO. This pump, depending on who you hear it from, drives the radiator fan and maybe the steering pump. If it's dry (lots of research out there) you'll probably want to at least check and lube it, if not replace it.
There's a seal up on the top of the slides that needs a look. I can't remember where, exactly, but Google will turn it up. Failing due to age, they are.
What else?... Nothing comes to mind right now. I'll add more if/as it comes to me.
