Media Center

Is the media center that switches from satellite to antena to cable on th3 front and back tvs standard? Has anyone upgraded?

My original died I purchased one like this:

It has a 12 volt selectable [on/off] source to power TV antenna if needed. Its a bit old school but all I needed. Functions well

Is the switch even necessary anymore with todays tv and receiver capabilities?
