Mystery vent in Roof
Hi I have an 07 Affinity. I am confused. as you look at the attached photo there are 4 vents in the roof of the coach ( please forgive roof mess, Photo taken in process of re surface of roof ) 3 of the vane type and one of a "cap" type. Pluming diagram supplied with coach shows that there should be 3 roof vents!?!
Assuming that the Vane type are them. Any ideas as to the purpose of the "cap" vent?
PS included photo of finished roof.

Probably just a vent from the attic area to prevent moisture build up. Take the cap off and you will probably see insulation.

Best to pull the top and have a look .
I'll add that a few years back , when another member had a question about an " odd " roof vent placement , it turned out the manufacturer had installed a roof vent to cover a tear in the rubber roof ; that had happened on the assembly line ; rather than a visible patch that might have resulted in the customer demanding a replacement of the whole of the roof material .

Most likely an Attic Vent
Our 5th wheel has THREE
On front center
One mid center
One rear center
Plus the THREE Waste tank vents
1 black, 1 grey, 1 galley

Gray tank, Black tank, Washer, Shower.
All 4 of mine are in a row. the 2nd from the inside was the black tank (so all others are gray) the Cap is original, the vain types are venturi add on to help pull the air out of the tank with even a small breeze, or running down the road. It helps eliminate odors in the coach. I added a different brand/style to my coach, I put on 3 new caps, Black tank, gray tank, and washer (I think) I did not bother with the 4th. It seems to work fine. You should have a pluming diagram that shows everything, but it took me a bit to decipher mine.

I forgot I have a pic of my diagram. a few years older then yours, and I do not have the washer dryer in the back, but still similar.

A bit off topic but, you mentioned you were about to re-surface the roof. What product will you be using?

Hi, I used a product from Rust-oleum called Wipe New Marine that was designed to restore fiberglass on boats. As you can see by the gloss in the photo it did a great job. This is the second coach I used it on and I was able to do both with one quart. Unfortunately it seems that it is no longer available.

The resolution was finding the error in the drawing for the pluming. They used item numbers rather than descriptions and the vent item numbers were incorrectly labeled on the print. They indicated two vents as vent item number 8 one of which should have been number 9 leading me to believe that there were only 3 vents but 4 is the correct number. It does not become apparent until you go through the exercise of tracing the vent lines back through to the holding tanks. I did not look at this in this way until another gentleman posted a pic of his drawing that was correctly labeled.
Hence
