Need help in finding engine codes

I need to download my engine codes on my 1999 ISC as I have a power problem. I have the barrel key but i can't seem to find the procedure in either of my big books to get to the codes using the transmission pad.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

I may be wrong but, I believe the codes you will get from the transmission pad are only for the Allison transmission. I use the silver light VMSPC to read the engine codes on my unit. It connects to the ECM via the diagnostic port on the engine. I am also not familiar with the barrel key you mention. On my rig there is a engine diagnostic switch on the dash that supposedly reads error codes using flashes however it never worked correctly. I think your best bet is to find someone with a code reader.

Found the problem, turned out to be clogged fuel filters and I was going to replace them when we returned from this trip..So for now I don't need the codes, but do appreciate your post and input.
