New batteries and no start
Just replaced my two chassis batteries with two new Duracell 8d’s with 1425 cca each.
After installing still won’t start. Will start with boost. New batteries read 12.7v when I purchased them.
Let it run for 1/2 hr on high idle. While at idle house reads 14.9 and chassis 13.7.
After letting in run and shut down tried to restart and just a click. Not sure what the issue is any ideas.

Recheck your wiring. You may have dropped a wire behind the battery that you cannot see.

With just clicking.....
Is the Allison panel powered up?
An unpowered Allison panel will cause a relay clicking and the engine will not start on key, but will if you hold key to start and jump starter solenoid..
I found a blown fuse in my run compartment that was not related to transmission beyond pushing power to the Alli panel..Once fixed started no problem..

Because it will start with a boost, it probably isn’t a blown fuse. (Just a guess, based on limited information, but I’ d defer to those with more experience.)
The way you began your post, it sounds like you replaced the batteries because of a no start condition, is that correct? If so, that could also mean you don’t have a loose or dropped wire because it is not a new problem stemming from the battery replacement. You have a no start condition that hasn’t been fixed by new batteries.
You’ve got new fully charged batteries that get recharged through the alternator but fail to start the engine unless with a boost. Should we assume you mean the boost switch connecting the house bank?
It may be bad connections anywhere between the batteries themselves or the wiring to the starter, or a failing starter motor that’s binding or has high internal resistance. Check all cables from batteries to any fuses or circuit breakers in battery bay. Also, check/clean/tighten all grounds an ground straps on transmission engine and chassis.

It is possible you have a bad starter. After trying to start and getting nothing, crawl under and give the starter a few love taps with a hammer. This could help re-seat the brushes then try to start. The added amperage from the chassis batteries will cause enough arcing in the starter to make it run. Been there, done that with another coach
On the Intrigue, there is a solenoid in the engine compartment that also can be bad. Mine is located on the right side and screwed to the engine side of the fuel filter bay down low. Also give that a few love taps if you have it.

Ok thanks for replies. So yes my Allison powers up. My old batteries were shot took them in for a load test and both failed. I believe all wires are connected and connected properly as I taped and numbered them. Having a slide out battery tray sure is nice. All battery connections on battery were cleaned prior to install. With starting with boost I was referring to the switch in rv to get some juice from house batteries.
Have a wedding this weekend and my son is coming home so wont have to much time to play with it.

Thanks for the feedback.
Just because the new batteries may read 12.7v, that does not guarantee they are fully charged. A half-hour on the alternator at high idle may certainly not be enough. If you checked the voltage soon after you shut down the engine, you were reading the surface charge. Batteries should "sit" for about thirty minutes after charge to equalize, then take a reading. It can take four or more hours to charge up a battery bank completely. You may wish to put the new batteries on a plug-in charger and let them charge overnight, then try again in the morning.

Are you sure you put the wires back correctly the 14.9 volts sounds about the max regulated voltage an alternator will produce and 13.7 sounds about right for discharged house batteries

the 14.9 is on my house side and I didn't touch anything on that side.

Checked batteries when I got home yesterday almost sitting for 24 hrs and still reading 12.7v. Disconnected batteries put charger on and charged for 5min and green light came on saying fully charged. Still no start.
Will look more Monday.
Thanks for ideas.

Thanks for the update.
IMO, this is looking more and more like a starter motor issue because it will start when the boost is applied.
One more question. When you apply the boost, does the starter motor turn over the engine at a normal rate or does it sound like the starter is struggling to get going but finally cranks at normal speed?

Have you given the starter a nice solid love tap yet?

Turns like normal and fires up in one second.
