If your steering box is like the one in my 2000 Magna you may have to replace it with a rebuilt box. My box is a Sheppard M110PJW3R. When mine failed the shop I used could not locate one and had to go to Sheppard to get a rebuilt box. I've heard that others have located rebuilt boxes other sources.

It my case, Sheppard provided a rebuilt box but they only rebuilt box I after paid them. It took take 5 days to rebuild the box and then it had to ship it to the shop. My shop took 2 days to trying to find a box and then finally contacted Sheppard. Given that 2 days, the 5 days for Sheppard to rebuild a box and then shipping the box to the shop I was down for about 10 days. I was able to recoup some money from Sheppard when I shipped my old box to them.

I know others have located a steering boxes that have already been rebuilt. Hopefully someone will jump in and with information where they found a rebuilt box that may same you some time.

You might give these people a call and ask for input. If they don't have a new or rebuilt unit for you, they can usually rebuild your unit. Would not hurt to ask them if they can 'blue print' the rebuild for you, and if so, how much more that might cost. (Closer tolerances - which can help a bit, on having a tighter overall steering effect.)

Good luck,
Smitty

Here (Above) is an older thread on this subject. And if do more searches, a some threads pop up for Monaco owner's, who've been able to substitute the Sheppard for a TRW that has 'adjustment' capability for the future. (Have never determined if this is possible for the CC setup or not! And believe the Monaco is a slightly different model, but - memory fade is very probable at the moment for me!)

STOP.

Contact https://redheadsteeringgears.com/aboutprocess

They have been rebuilding and blue-printing (to remove play) from Sheppard steering boxes for a LONG time.

The M110PJW3R steering box is the one installed on my coach when the original box failed and the box works with the pitman arm on my 2000 Magna.
