New owner of 2000 Magna
questions....
1. volt gauge on dash shows low number (10v) while engine is running, actually all the gauges except air seems low. 14.5 v at batteries.
2. Can't figure out how to turn on the wabasto system
3. there is a small ( looks aftermarket ) on off switch mounted above the steering column. Says REMCO and has a green and a red light, what is it?
4. this has the C10 engine at 385 HP, seems weak to me, comments?
5 there is a display panel ( doesn't turn on ) to the right of dash panel. about 5 or 6 inches long 3 inches high with 4 buttons on it, also one single turning knob to the right of that display....what do these do???
yes I have read through most of this forum and read through the factory manuals....I'm sure more questions are coming.

Maybe an Alternator belt or Alternator problem for the gauges. Or maybe a ground wire problem?
Our 300hp Cummins C8.3L is slow uphill but always arrives at the top for the past 28 years. We are not in a hurry.
Our 1995 dash seems to function just fine. But we do not have your added features. KISS principle?

Those analog gauges don’t work on most Magnas. I installed VMSpc to get accurate readings. In my case fuel and oil pressure work. Water temp and voltage don’t. I think is a ground issue. Our Magna also has the optional Caterpillar LCD engine display which displays engine data directly from the ECM.
To turn the Webasto on: go to the thermostat and set both zones to furnace. Then go to the bedroom control panel and turn on Central Heat and the switch next to it. I think it is labeled air exchangers. Then turn the knob to adjust fan speed. Then go to the panel above the drivers head and turn those two knobs to adjust fan speed for the living room and galley. The bedroom is zone two and the living room galley is zone one. Adjust temps on the thermostat.
That switch might be heated mirrors.
The C10 comes from Cat set at 330hp and country coach turned it up to 385. It’s got plenty of power. Your performance expectations may be unrealistic. Or you could have dirty fuel filters. Or a dirty air filter. Or the charge air cooler may be cracked allowing turbo boost to escape into the atmosphere instead of being directed into the intake manifold. We tow an f150 or a 27’ enclosed trailer and have no issues with power.
I don’t know what that panel is but it might be a Silverleaf system. Google Silverleaf.

Thank you for taking the time to help. The display I mentioned turns out is the CAT information screen, doesn't work. just to the right of that is a small knob that rotates, still don't know what that does. I'll do more checking on the gauge issue, I'm confident the alternator is OK. Still a no go on the Webasto unit, I'll have to wait for no rain so I can empty the bay with all the electrical and start tracing down that problem. The pump near the Webasto isn't running and the fans don't seem to have power, nor are the fans for the dash ac or passenger ac. I'm getting some of this figured out, but heat is the big one. more questions pending..... BTW coach is #5796

Thank you Fred, I will keep your number. I can't even ask an intelligent question at this point. I'll be educating myself, and investigating the systems. I would like the CAT ID screen to work. Is it worth chasing down a new display? Looks expensive if one can even be found.

Try going to a County Coach International rally so people familiar with the coach can help you understand your coach. You can also have a good time.

Yes that cat display is nice. But it only displays two functions at a time. You can select which two but you have to scroll through the choices.

OK, it stopped raining enough for me to investigate the electrical bay. I find that the fuse for the Webasto circuit 403 blown. put in a new fuse and it immediately pops. Bad circ pump?? Bad exchanger fan?? any ideas?

Up inside the front bay there is an electrical compartment. Inside that compartment there is a metallic box that houses many of the Webasto control components. On our coach it’s labeled Webasto. I’d inspect that and check the circuit breakers there. If nothing appears out of order there I’d go back to the Webasto unit itself in the rear bay and unplug the two plugs from the bottom of the silver box. Then replace the fuse again and see what happens. That silver box on the Webasto is the brains of the operation.
If the fuse doesn’t blow then I would slide the silver box off and send it in to have it tested. You’ll have to do some googling to find a Webasto technician. If you’re on Facebook there is an Aquahot/Hydrohot group. Those units are Webasto based and there are lots of knowledgeable folks hanging out there.

Fred, I found that the pump in the forward bay to be non operational and was the cause of the blown fuse. I unplugged that pump, however still nothing at the Webasto itself. I will proceed with your suggestions. Doing a search on this forum there is talk of a repair manual on the Webasto site, but I only find a operations manual. Does anyone have an electronic copy of this??? Looking for an electrical diagram. I would like to jumper the leads into the unit and see if I can get it to at least turn over. I just bought this unit, it had come up from Florida and I don't this the system had been used in quite a while. Thanks for the help.

Busboys,
Do you have the schematic for your coach. Here are the schematics for the Hurricane furnace in my coach. Your coach is about 100 numbers lower than mine so my schematic may not be like your coach. In fact I'm not sure the schematics are for my coach as I see some differences between how my system works and the way the schematics say it should works.

Thank you Pete. I do have those drawings for my coach, #5796. The drawings say effective on coach# 5814 but at a quick glance they appear the same as you sent. Today, I took apart the control module and cleaned it up a bit, and got the unit to fire and run so that all seems well. I do seem to have power feeding back to my chassis power now, probably through the circuit back to the key switch #245 as shown on the drawing, upper left corner. I am assuming one of those 6 amp diodes. One thing at a time, but it is nice to slowly chase down the gremlins. I finally have heat in the coach. I thank you for your assistance. I am sure many more questions are coming...........

Well if you have heat that’s a huge step. Does it smoke much out the exhaust pipe? Speaking of pumps, there are four in our coach. The one up front that you have found, one in the front bay electrical panel, one right next to the burner itself and one one in the engine bay. They are expensive to replace and some people eliminate one or two of them. I’ve replaced two thus far in the past six years we’ve had this 2000 Magna.
As a proactive measure, you could replace them all at one time because they do tend to fail. And while sometimes they just lock up and become non functional, another failure mode is for the seal to leak and when the leak becomes bad enough you will lose engine coolant and find yourself on the side of the road with an overheating engine. It’s all one system; the engine coolant and the hydronic heat system. Which also means you are preheating the engine all the time the system is running. Some additional plumbing and a couple ball valves would solve that challenge but I have not done that.
