On our 2004 Country Coach Allure, we notice a rattle or chugging sound when we use the water at low flow levels. The pump seems to work fine at higher flows. The noise comes from the pump itself.


Would as accumulator be a fix for this? If so, do you have a suggested type, size, or brand?

Add a 2 gallon pressure tank, your chugging should cease and your water system will work better. Even a small one quart on commonly referred to as accumulators will help.

Considering the noise isn’t there at high flow rates and the chugging sounds like the pump is being rapidly turned on and off, then an accumulator might well solve the issue.

Probably cheaper and less time consuming than either trying to convince the wife to ignore it or just ignoring the wife altogether.

I installed a Jabsco accumulator. Model 30573-0000. I removed the house filter behind inspection panel in wet bay. Mounted the accumulator in same location. I use a camco sediment filter upstream of my On The Go softener.

An accumulator will solve the problem of the pump cycling. Just make sure you’re not just treating the symptom of a possible leak in the system causing the pressure to drop.

Also, make sure you don’t already have an accumulator which may have failed. My Concept came from CC with one installed. If failed a couple years ago and I replaced it with a new one. Mine is installed behind some cabinets in the kitchen.
