Painted frame & superstructure?
Does anyone know if the steel frame and superstructure of a DynoMax chassis is painted for rust resistance before the skin is vacuum bonded on?

The answer is yes - and no. I recently pulled out my driver's side window which exposed some of the steel structure and the answer is no. But, the exposed framework in the back of the coach is painted.

Don't think so. I had a leak around the driver's window and, when the window was removed at RV Fog Doctor, the metal frame was pretty rusted. The part that was not rusted did not appear to have been painted. Also, I've had the A pillar trim off to run wires and the steel framing I can see there had no paint.

Can't recall the site it was on, maybe here, but a recent CC owner started to repair leaks in his new to him coach, and found quite a bit of rust. No paint on the part he was repairing. In the front driver side, near the slide. Believe the leak was from the driver's window area. Enough to have caused wall damage, and rust. He also followed it down to the frame, which had good rust on it too, below the leak point.
Water can be the enemy  !

The steel in the walls is not painted because the glue that is used to bond the fiberglass to the steel would not hold and you would get a severe case of delamination

on an 08 i have been in both the rear and front caps and also removed the a pillar covers when i did the windshield and all metal was painted black. fortunately never had to look in the walls.

Kinda related, I found this interesting several weeks ago on a cool humid morning I could see the sidewall structure from the condensation..

I couldn't see inside the walls, but all other frames/structures are primed or painted black. When I replaced the fuel lines between furnace and fuel tank I had to access the center frames and saw they were all painted.
All of what you see are painted (2009 Magna)

Yep, well known "trick". Could do it with our new '00 and new '02 Dutch Stars years ago.

Yep, I can see that if I pull out the panels. Been doing rust treatment on areas I can see and reach when necessary.

I have replaced a fair chunk of mine..
From the gas tanks back to the rear drive tires and none if it was painted originally unless it was exposed
