PTO Wet Kit

Howdy All,

Well the first trip under the belt and have a few issues to deal with. Have confirmed I have the PTO without the wet kit.
So where is the best place to purchase the wet kit? And where would be the best place to have it installed? We are in the greater Seattle area and not muck time on our hands at this point.

Thanks again,
Greg

Check with these folks in Oregon:

You can also check with Oregon Motor Coach in Eugene and see if they have them or can get them. I am sure they have installed many.

You might also check with Premier RV. Lot of guys have had work done there.
Parts | Premier RV
OMC is a great place with great people. One of the guys in our group lost the PTO and had the wet PTO installed at OMC last year.
You might check with http://infinitycoach.com
It will cost more, sales tax if they can do it. Sumner, WA

You could call jim at infinity coach in pacific or go to kenworth northwest. As an option if your handy you could just pull the pump back and re-lube the spline with spline lube. Just a couple bolts and no hoses to disconnect .Its good for a couple years. Spline lube is considered normal maintenance unless wet kit installed.

If you have the time, these are the places to go to. Otherwise do as Rod says and lube it yourself. Paperwork says to lube the PTO shaft every 5,000 miles. You for sure don't want the PTO to shed the splines as you will loose power steering and steering one of these coaches without power can cause you to break the steering box.

Not to scare you but I have seen the shaft splines sheared after 3500 miles on a new coach.

Appreciate all the feedback
Looks like I will be giving JDRV a call to get the kit ordered.
The coach will be going back to dealer for a few negotiated fixes may ask what they will charge to put it in as well.
Good to know about more local places like Infinity and Kenworth NW
along with the places down in Junction City

Elk season starts up and will be off grid for a couple weeks
will update as things progress

Don't want to hijack this post, but I have a wet kit to install on mine. Instructions I received does not indicate where to connect the oil line on the Allison. Does anyone have that information or can post a picture of their installation? Thanks in advance if you can help!

Thanks Mike! Good pics and good write-up.....but.....I still cannot find where the oil line connects to the Allison. There are 3 or 4 ports that are the correct size in the vicinity.

OK finally back. I have ordered my wet Kit from John Davis and it is on its way

Jerry there is a good photo of where it is connected at the Yahoo Country Coach forum here:

Looks to me that you utilize the existing line from the Allison and just T off.

Let us know what ya find out. It may be some time before I get to mine
