Satellite dish
Our 2000 intregue has a dish on the roof like the one on my house. Non auto .
How does this operate ? is there a controller in side to raise and adjust it? how do I find signal?

There should be controls on the ceiling right below the dish. Ours did until I removed them and installed a Wineguard Traveler. Probably that dish is no longer usable due to newer technology and someone removed the controls.

All the channels are on newer satellites, as others said, you need the newer HD dish by Winegard.

I have the old system on my coach. Didn't even think about using it until March of this year when DW & I were in Arizona with final destination being Nellis AFB.
Once the Covid took hold of everything, DW wanted more news than what we could obtain using internet channels so I contacted DirectTV.
Long story but ended up that I replaced the "head unit" with a newer one and bingo. The old one has 4 wires that run into the coach where the newer unit only uses one of the existing wires.
Point being, you may just need to upgrade the head unit.

The roof units are for the most part better but if you generally camp around a lot of trees the small portable units are a better choice as they can often find a window through the trees

Thanks all I am going to start out with just the digital antenna for local channels, we really don't watch that much tv ,but before our first snow birding trip where I can seeing stuck inside for extended periods of time Im thinking the portable unit on a stand might be the ticket.

If you have a smart TV, and a hot spot, you can also stream.
