Time to soup this puppy up

Decided to crank up the HP on the 6v92 today

Adding a faster blower gear and bigger injectors to push more air and fuel
Also putting on a less restrictive muffler to give better airflow and move the heat out of the motor faster. It will be a touch louder.

Should add 60 hp and 200 ft/lb or torque

I was worried initially about tuning the motor but it seems that they actually retarded it pretty far in our application which is about 350 HP in a fire apparatus application they tune them to 450 and a marine (unlimited cooling) 550

I do not want to do burnouts or coal roll it but getting up a hill at faster than 30 would be nice. I am also going to start flat towing my 1982 F250 and I think I need to pump it up for that. She doesn't to seem to notice the Jeep now.

I am thinking about adding an exhaust temp gauge. Anyone think of anything else I can add to monitor the heat in the motor?
Going to 115 injectors should not cause black smoke but I will have too keep an eye on the temps on Long grades. This should help fuel economy, currently I get 9 plus not towing and 8-9 with the tick stuck to it.

Boost gauge and a pyrometer are pretty important. Not sure of your air filter situation, but upgraded two strokes need lots of air.

9ddly the transmission can handle it and much more in all configurations except transit bus. I am not sure why the same transmission is capped at 350hp 1100lb torque in a transit bus but 450hp and 1300lb torque in a dump truck. My quess is they are worried about the constant stop and go but I feel I am good there.
I am thinking about adding an exhaust temp and a boost guage.

Exhaust temp and boost gauges are a must when you up grade the 8 v motor also get some more air to it they do love to pull more air than you can give if you stay with the restrictive air cleaner. Buddy of mine went with an oversized housing and a larger intake for the housing you can here it a mile away sucking air but it will really go. The 6v isn’t much different as far as temp big exhaust pipes will get rid of the extra heat.

Yes, I am surprised how toned down they are but I'd you feed them more you need to monitor them.
I am actually pretty stoked to get the coach back, I think this will help.the fuel economy and road manners a ton
