Tracstar replacement

Anybody replaced trackstar with a Winegard Trav'ler? Just 1 sat on Tracstar, had Trav'ler with Dish previously. Wondering if it's a DYI project. '08 Allure

Depends on your skill set.
The travler is a bit heavy to get on the roof, after that a pretty easy install. Once the plate is sealed and screwed down, requires a new coax and power run.
Drill a hole above where the receiver is located install and seal.
Connection is straight forward.
Most satellite installers with install for a few hundred dollars.
Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks for the info. I have some basic skills. Been looking for a used Trav'ler, they're fairly spendy.

Used an installer to initially install my Direct TV Traveler. Dumped Direct and switched to Dish and had an installer make that change. Had to remove my Winegard and send it in for repair. I did the removal and reinstall.
If it ever needs to come off the roof again, It won't be me doing it. I will go back to hiring an installer It's heavy, plus it's odd shape make it difficult to handle.
Suggestion - if you are going to keep the coach for awhile, install a Samsung smart 4K tv, a Samsung receiver/amp, a Dish Hopper 3 (plus Joey's for the other tv's) and a Winegard Razor. Yes that adds up to some sizable money, but the benefits are tremendous and you will really enjoy the upgrade. You will no longer bother to hook up to a parks cable system and no longer spend time trying to tune in local channels. You be amazed at all the stuff (wiring, antenna, mounts, switches and equipment) that you throw away. Has to be 100+ lbs. of stuff. Technology has change a lot since 2008 when my coach was built and I was really happy with the results of my upgrade.
Final note - be careful buying a used/older Traveler. They have made several upgrades to eliminate the failures that older units are prone to have.

I did a TV upgrade in the coach I just sold a couple years ago, but haven't done the Trav'ler install. The issue in this coach, might be getting the old TV out. I know some folks have had issues getting the cabinet apart.

I did a upgrade on the TV in my 07. Not difficult and not easy at the same time. My main issue was that the opening for the old TV and the new TV were not similar in size. I believe I had a 36" in the original opening and I replaced it with a 40" Vizio. I removed the TV first, then the wooden frame. cut the opening and made a faux speaker cover on the bottom, too make it look original and installed it back in. Good Luck.

I would go with an rf mogul. simple build easy support and instructions. Its right in the diy so long as your ok with a ladder. I don't like winegard because the whole unit has to be shipped for some simple repair.RF mogul is built component so they will send you the new part and you send them back the old one.
