Two Small Compressors in Front Driver side bay

I have spammed the forums with my erroneous questions about my auxiliary air compressor for the air leveling systems.

So after twenty years of ownership, I have now realized that I have two small compressors in the Front Driver side bay.

One is now verified to be the Thomas auxiliary air leveling compressor. It is working well. And listed on the equipment included at purchase.

The second is a Gatz air compressor. It runs at Ignition On and now makes a racket. MOA-V111.-JH.

I do not know what this second air compressor supports. It is not mentioned in the CC equipment listings.

I guess it could be Dash HVAC controls or an Air Horn. But it is not discussed in the CC Manual for 1995.

Do any other owners have two Air Compressors in their Front Run Box area?

If so, what feature do your compressors support?

Take some pics? Maybe trace airlines and try to see where they go?

Hi Dean,
I was told that one of those is an aux air compressor and the other is a vacuum pump.

From the manufacturer, it is a vacuum pump, commonly used for the HVAC controls.

Sherpa, thank you!

When I thought it was my aux leveling compressor I missed the vacuum pump part of the description on the various websites selling this pump.

So, it must facilitate the dash ac function. That is why the air line goes up toward the front of the dash and there is no pressure switch evident.

I get in my own way too many times these days.

So, for the short term I can leave it disconnected from power and be safe.

It is the AC vacuum pump!

I keep learning about this rig.

I found the Vacuum hose disconnected from the black vacuum ball.

Reconnected the hose, turned on the ignition, the pump ran for about 15 seconds and shut off.

Now I know what to do next time that pump starts complaining.....
