Updated my wall sconces

I went to LEDs throughout my coach a few years ago but was never happy with the illumination from the wall sconces. Maybe my eyes are getting old, but I simply wanted more light as well as more down light. I found some fixtures that I like because they're more modern and LED as well. So out with the old and in with the new. But not so fast! The lights were designed for 120 volts AC and I had to convert them to 12 volts DC. I removed their internal voltage converter but that was only half the battle. Internally the LEDs were designed for 40 volts DC. Yuk! So, a little brain surgery was in order and they now work great. I'm quite pleased with their light quality and lumen output. That said, I can't recommend them because the surgery was too difficult for even the most ardent DIY'er. I did say "brain surgery". If anyone has a need for the fixtures I removed, just PM me and they can be had for actual postage.

Looks great! I like the light I get from mine...but they do have a dated look to them.

That's a nice and bright design on those new sconces.

As an alternative to the "surgery," one should be able to use a 120V incandescent-bulb sconce, of which there are many. Wire it to 12V, then use a lamp base converter (Edison to G4 bi-pin) to put G4 LED lamps in it.
