used RV purchase questions

Hello all,
I am looking at a 2008 CC Magna 630 with 89's for mileage was told to consider having the front end done about $6,000 to $7,000 drives well but does have a little amount of looseness.
Would you suggest that is a good recommendation of course I'll have a shop take a look.

Is it recommended to have a pre inspection done prior to our purchase?
I am not knowledgeable on Diesel coaches. Suspension, oil / fluids verified no water etc. I assume I would find a dealer near the purchase location.

Thank You!

That's a beautiful coach. Definitely have the front end checked. Some units have front ends parts that can only be purchased from Kaiser in Oregon.
Also check for wet PTO. If it has a Cat engine have the driveshaft checked. It seems all the 2008 with Cat engines have a drive shaft that is too short, It should be marked 270 and not 210.

Good luck

Also check the you tube 2008 Country Coach Brake design flaw.

I was told it needed a wet pto whatever that means, seller said about $3,000? Think this is a big issue?

Very hard to put a dollar figure on a wet kit. Depending how many miles on the coach without being lubricated. To get a wet kit and have it installed about $1500. The problem is if the splines on the pump shaft are bad then you could add easy $3000 and 6 weeks to get pump. Good luck.

Had coach that I talked to with dry and needed to pry the pump out with 80k miles. He was lucky as he took pump to repair shop that had the input shaft and had pump rebuilt in a week for $800.

Is it recommended to have a pre inspection done prior to our purchase? Yes, by a certified rv inspector or your rv mechanic familiar with that coach.

All Magna / Affinitys have a degree of "looseness" in the steering feel. Its a side effect of the front suspension design. There are "some" fixes.

Many threads here on iRV2 CC about this. There are some fixes..in my case I've learned tire pressure is critical to better driving feel.

There are naysayers but the wet kit is critical. Particularly for Cummins powered coaches. I responded to your other thread.
