Window Seal on Entry Door
Our 2001 Intrigue whistles like crazy from so.eplace at the entry door at anything over about 50mph. I read recently about quieting some whistle with a piece of 2x4 and a sledge hammer . . . (May try that next.)
But one suspicious looking detail was the rubber seal around the window glass in the door. It had apparently shrunken over the years, and was pulling out at the corners of the window. Was redoing some of the other windows with materials from David Root - turned out great! -- but he had nothing for it. A bit of browsing on the 'net got me to the Steele Rubber Products web site. They have an on-line form inviting you to send a photo of a rubber profile, and they respond with matching part numbers.
So I sent them a cross section picture, and sure enough got a quote for a nearly perfect match. Had not seen anything even close on the 'net, but this was really close. Just finished installing it, and man, does it look great! (FWIW, I see the last two pix display sideways . . .)
If you are looking for a specific shape seal, Steele Rubber Products may be a good resource.

Thanks for sharing. I keep a file of these types of companies mentioned on this forum and I think not only has it save me a lot of aggravation and money but will be worth more to a future owner and the coach itself :-)

Thanks for this info. Did the new seal fix the wind noise problem?

Amazing - I was loading Steele Rubber info into my contacts, and realized that their office is about 5 miles from our home in NC! Very convenient for my upcoming door seal project on our ‘03 Allure 32

FWIW, the 2x4 and sledge fix is for the Affinity and Magna model doors only. They are different from your Intrigue door.

Good to know! I could see where me and a sledge hammer could get into hot water real fast!

I can say this, it sure looks better! But my other project for the winter involved pulling the mirrors to get the supports recorded, and that turned into a really special mess.... to be completed, soon, I hope!
