Xantrex Inverter/Charger

One of the xantrex 3000 watt inverter/chargers in my 06 magna has crashed from what I can tell. These units have a mfg date of 07 so that tells me that they have been replaced sometime as our coach was mfg in 05 and we are not the original owners. My question, is there another inverter/charger like Magnum that will work with this remaining xantrex. From what research I've done, these 3.0 xantrex are no longer made and there are some still out there but I would rather replace with one thats still in production . I have the Silverleaf total coach control so I want to make sure they are compatible . Does anyone know and have others had problems with xantrex?

There are many inverters.. They fall into two by two groups

1: Stand alone or "In-line" your 3.0 is an Inline
2: MSW/TSW... I believe yours is a TSW.

NOTE: If you are buying an inverter, even though they are more expensive I suggest a TSW (True Sine Wave or Pure Sine Wave) as the list of things that won't work with a 3,000 watt TSW inverter is: Anything needing more than 3,000 watts.

The list with a MSW inverter is much, much, longer.

In all cases, an In-Line inverter will have AC-IN and AC-out connections, it will also have battery connections.

What is the difference between one and another.

Some have a remote display panel.. This likely will be different,, Some are larger, smaller, wider, or have connections in different locations.. USUALLY wires can be re-routed easily...

Some the charger module has greater or lesser programmability or ability or quality..

But from an electronics viewpoint, you can use any 3,000 watt IN-LINE True Sine wave inverter to replace it... Just may need to drill a few screw holes is all.

I can not recommend a replacement brand or model because frankly... Far too many good ones out there.. In this size (over 1,000 watt) most all of 'em are fairly good to excellent.

Thanks
They are TSW . I asked a local mh repair facility about replacement of one and not the other and they were not sure, said they would have to look into it a little. They suggested magnum. Anyway, thanks for the input as I will start on this project Monday.

Magnum makes good stuff and provides excellent technical assistance. I would guess if you do get one from Magnum and mix it with the other Xantrex, you will have to deal with two inverter remote control panels. Magnum has its own AGS module (I just installed one on my Allure that previously had Xantrex) and the folks at Silverleaf told me they can make their system talk to a Magnum inverter.

I would give the folks at Magnum Energy in Washington a call and see what they say.
