1999 Eagle TT Water Heater...

I have a 6.2 gal combo water heater that runs off 120 and propane. The electric element isn't working so I have to use the propane which I would rather not do on campsites to save on propane use.

I am very mechanical and have replaced many home and commercial hot water heaters, elements and gas valves.

Wife and I just purchased this unit about three weeks ago and took it camping for the first time last weekend. I looked @ the owners manuals and looked outside the hot water heater and I can't find the heating element to check voltage and remove the element to see if it's cracked or burnt.

Can anyone point me in the right direction???

The element should be in the back of the heater under a rectangular plastic cover--you'll see some wiring going into the cover. Most of the elements are like the home electric units--uses a large socket to unscrew.
