2018 31 UL Entry Door Security

So after all the time at CW for Never cold refrig and the Truma water heater drama we were finally able to use coach for first time since we bought in January. This was 2 weeks ago.
Due to HOA, we store under cover at a Public Storage 2 miles away. Secure storage, gate code blah blah.
Go by today to crank er up and find someone has broken in and they also helped themselves to the coach batteries. These of course are in an unlockable compartment with propane.
Nothing was taken from inside but it doesn’t look like they much trouble getting in.
Any ideas on how to better secure entry to make thieves just keep on going as it looks too hard to get into ?
We will probably be selling this coach as we feel it is cursed. All these issues and only 1034 miles on it and it had 980 when we bought it.

You are not alone. We had the same thing happen to our 35S while it was in storage. Secure facility ha. They couldn't get in the door, after taking a crowbar to it and damaging it much like yours, so they smashed the passenger side window and cut the screen. TV stolen from back bedroom and then set the fire extinguisher off just to be donkeys.

New door and whole new passenger side window assembly later (and new storage spot that is secure) we are enjoying our unit.

Soooo, don't get rid of her just yet. Hopefully you will get years of enjoyment ahead and log many satisfied miles. We just hit 20,000 miles on our first year of full-timing and have smiles on our faces. Nothing but great memories.

As for a solution to better secure the door, given our broken window ... I am not sure there is such a thing. My opinion is security comes from the facility, find a good one. As it turned out, our dealership provided the solution as their yard was monitored electronically and physically.

Thanks for the post. I agree facility is key to the security. We had our Alfa here years ago and never a problem. Several rigs here and we saw nothing wrong with any of the others.
We will figure something out. Any idea on cost associated with door ?
Looks like they are easy to get into if you get a screwdriver lined up right with the deadbolt it will push right in.
Thanks again
