2018 Greyhawk 26Y Spare Mounting

Just downsized from a Monaco 33 ft Class a to 2018 Greyhawk 26Y. It didn't come with a spare and I prefer to carry one and found E450 dually wheel and having new tire put on. Now to mount it. Anyone done this? Some of off the shelf carriers looking kinda flimsey for a 8 lug wheel. Considering bumper mount or underneath and still using hitch to tow toad when necessary. Like most, I am on a budget. Appreciate any experience you have had to install a suitable carrier.

2018 Greyhawk 26Y Spare Mounting

Hopefully this will connect for you, I posted under jayco owners last spring. It shows the under frame tire holder which I welded up and mounted in the space in the frame ahead of my hitch. It was tight on mine but works great.
Tap my id and it should bring up photos and explanations it is called spare tire holder.
Good luck

Spare tire support 26Y Greyhawk

Thanks to all for your input on mounting a spare tire on my 2018 26Y Greyhawk. Bought the tire and wheel and had it mounted and balanced. The combination weighs 70 pounds and 30 inches in diameter. It fits TIGHTLY between the black tank forward and over the hitch to the rear. Plenty of room between the chassis rails. I raised the wheel/tire first and then bolted a 2"x1" steel galvanized channel to the bottom of the chassis rails and the wheel rests on it. I'm also bolting the wheel to the channel steel to keep the wheel in place. Looks pretty sturdy and will take a little effort to remove by removing the two 1/2 inch mounting bolts from the rails. Hope I don't have to use it , but it's there if needed and out of the way.
